Classroom Observations

Classroom observations generally consist of a one-hour classroom visit, a brief written report, and a follow up consultation. Email admin@understandingarcher.com for more information. Observations can be done for the following purposes:  

Student Behavior

• In coordination with parents, we are available to do a classroom observation and provide recommendations on ways to best support a student in the classroom.

Classroom Functioning:

• • We are available to do onsite classroom observations and can provide recommendations for ways to improve class functioning. 

Teacher Training and Parent Talks

Understanding Archer provides teacher and staff training and community parent talks. Email admin@understandingarcher.com for more information. Topics include: 

Emotional Regulation: Dealing with Tantrums 

• • This talk covers the “why” behind tantrums and understanding all of the emotions that we feel, from both biological and behaviors aspects. It also provides management techniques for preventing and minimizing tantrums, and dealing with tantrums when they occur. 

Early Childhood Developmental Milestones 

• • This talk reviews typical milestones for ages 3-5 in a variety of domains. It also covers ways to promote growth, when to be concerned for delays, and when testing or intervention may be needed.

Handling Behaviors: Understanding Punishment and Reinforcement

• • This talk covers practical ways to handle positive and negative behaviors through the use of punishment or reinforcement. It provides practical information on what techniques are most helpful in particular types of situations or for general behavioral development.
